Lovely statue! I'm interested in the buildings behind it, too. The architecture is so different from each other. Any history there?

Jackie - I just started it! So far, it is excellent. The fighting in WWI reminds me so much of my husband's grandfather's diary!

Sheri - My parent's Internet is awful, and every time I've tried to get on your site, it crashes. I promise I will get there though. You have my interest piqued!

Susan - I am sure there is alot of history, just that I don't know it! I do know that much of Poland was at one time something else (Russia, Germany etc.) so there have been many influences.

Dar - Thank you!

Beautiful!

So, is Gdansk a popular spot for tourists?

Fabulous and fascinating!
How is the diary project progressing?

Iliana - I guess it is popular for tourists. We saw a number of people taking in the sights. It seemed like they were mostly Polish, German and Russian. Not alot of Americans, however.

ds - it is very time-consuming. And also, I've been at my parent's house for a couple of weeks, and my husband is home working, so it is on hold. I have a hard time getting him to sit down and translate more than a page or two at night, because he's tired. It is completely fascinating, though. I would work on it day and night if I could!
